The experience of the Machine Mechanics team in the field of dynamic analysis of mechanical systems finds a natural extension in the study of biomechanics. The principles of mechanics are in fact applied in various fields of bioengineering, such as the design of endoprosthesis and esoprosthesis, the analysis of movement, the ergonomic study aimed at optimizing human-machine interfaces, the design of machines for rehabilitation and advanced sports equipment.


The research activity is focused on the dynamic simulation of biomechanical models through the OpenSim multi-body software, with which it is possible to perform kinematic and dynamic analyses starting from the collection of experimental data.


In the field of sports biomechanics, the Machine Mechanics team deals with the modeling of motion dynamics and the design of test devices for the experimental evaluation of the sporting gesture.
